Macintosh Users Please Read: Installation Instructions:
1) We recommend to use Mac OS 8.6 or 9.x for all users that have a Macintosh that can start-up with Mac OS 8.6 or later. The Fallen will run in Mac OS X Classic environment, but game play may be sluggish using a PowerMacintosh G3.
2) Make sure to update the OpenGL files (OpenGLMemory and OpenGLLibrary) included in The Fallen folder only if they are older that those provided in the System/Extensions folder of Mac OS 8 or 9. If the versions of these OpenGL files do not match, The Fallen game will crash. Do not remove these OpenGL files from The Fallen folder.
If you must use the Classic environment in Mac OS X, make sure to :
1) have all the Mac OS X updates to insure best compatibility
2) if you use an ATI graphics card,?get the latest OS9 drivers :
Here is an ATI link to get ATI drivers for Mac OS 9 and X.
Note the https. So I am not sure it if will work, if not:
type:http://www.ati.com/
select Drivers & Software
select from the pull-down menu Mac OS
select Mac OS Drivers and Software
select the appropriate Mac OS software version
Note: To our knowledge, there are no Nvidia drivers for Mac OS 9
other than the ones supplied by Apple. However, you can still use the OpenGL components
supplied with the ATI Mac OS drivers.
3) if you are using Mac OS X's Classic Environment, do the following to associate the game maps to the Fallen application:
a) using the Finder, locate the folder where The Fallen game is located
b) open the Maps folder
c) click once on a game map
d) press Command-I on the keyboard to display the File Information window
e) expand the section Open With by clicking the triangle
f) using the pop-up menu, select The Fallen application using the Other... item
g) click on the Always open with ckeckbox at the bottom of the Select another location dialog
h) click on Add button
Update, Important Information:
The Macintosh version of The Fallen has never been updated since its release in 2000. It is strongly advised that you play it on a Power
Macintosh that can start from Mac OS 8.1 or later. WARNING : The Fallen and especially the Convergence mod is not stable
using the Classic Environment under Mac OS X v10.4.x (Tiger). We do NOT recommend that you play the Convergence mod under this version of
Mac OS X. As we write this (November 25, 2005), it has not been tested under previous versions of OS X and its Classic environment.
The above recommendations still apply. Note that some of the Convergence maps are larger than those of The
Fallen, therefore, take more time load. In some instances, it may appear that the game has frozen, but in fact, has not.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Memory
You will probably need to have virtual memory on to run DS9, unless you have 256MB of physical ram on your machine. To turn on virtual memory, select "Memory" under "Control Panels".
If you experience memory errors, try increasing the amount of memory allocated to DS9. Select the DS9 icon so that it is highlighted. Then select "Get Info -> Memory" under the File menu.
Make sure you are not running other applications while running DS9. This will give DS9 the maximum RAM possible and improve performance.
Game Slow
If the game runs too slowly, go to the Options window and try the following:
Reduce the screen resolution.
Turn off game detail.
Turn off shadows.
Turn off decals.
If you have a 3D card installed, make sure the game is not running in software mode. Select the Video tab in your Options window to see which driver you are using.
RAVE
If you are experiencing difficulty with RAVE, check ATI's website www.atitech.com to ensure you have the latest RAVE drivers.
OpenGL
OpenGL is unsupported and may cause problems on some systems. If you have an ATI card, you will probably get better performance using RAVE.
OpenGL requires significantly more memory than RAVE. If you experience problems while using OpenGL, try increasing the memory allocated to DS9.
Crashes
If DS9 locks up or crashes, open the "Extensions Manager" control panel and turn off any extensions that are not related to the Apple system software. Then restart your computer. Some third party extensions may cause conflicts with DS9.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Game Sprockets
DS9 requires Apple's DrawSprocket and InputSprocket which are included with your system. If you have removed these extensions from your system folder you should reinstall them from your system CD.
Apple's Game Sprockets can also be downloaded from Apple's web site at www.apple.com/support. Click on "Downloads" and type in "Game Sprockets" to find the latest version to download.
Uninstall
To uninstall DS9 The Fallen, drag the "DS9 The Fallen" folder into the trash.
Input Settings
To adjust mouse settings that are not listed in the Input options, such as Mouse Wheel configurations, open the Options menu and press Command-M.
Additional Information:"Running Convergence on a Mac with Intel processor(s)
The Fallen, nor Convergence will not run on Mac with Intel processor as it does not have the Classic environment. A third-party solution exists but we do not have the necessary hardware to test it."
