Macintosh Users Please Read: Installation Instructions:
1) We recommend to use Mac OS 8.6 or 9.x for all users that have a Macintosh that can start-up with Mac OS 8.6 or later. The Fallen will run in Mac OS X Classic environment, but game play may be sluggish using a PowerMacintosh G3.
2) Make sure to update the OpenGL files (OpenGLMemory and OpenGLLibrary) included in The Fallen folder only if they are older that those provided in the System/Extensions folder of Mac OS 8 or 9. If the versions of these OpenGL files do not match, The Fallen game will crash. Do not remove these OpenGL files from The Fallen folder.
If you must use the Classic environment in Mac OS X, make sure to :
1) have all the Mac OS X updates to insure best compatibility
2) if you use an ATI graphics card,?get the latest OS9 drivers :
Here is an ATI link to get ATI drivers for Mac OS 9 and X.
Note the https. So I am not sure it if will work, if not:
type:http://www.ati.com/
select Drivers & Software
select from the pull-down menu Mac OS
select Mac OS Drivers and Software
select the appropriate Mac OS software version
Note: To our knowledge, there are no Nvidia drivers for Mac OS 9 other than the
ones supplied by Apple. However, you can still use the OpenGL components supplied with the
ATI Mac OS drivers.
3) if you are using Mac OS X's Classic Environment, do the following to associate the game maps to the Fallen application:
a) using the Finder, locate the folder where The Fallen game is located
b) open the Maps folder
c) click once on a game map
d) press Command-I on the keyboard to display the File Information window
e) expand the section Open With by clicking the triangle
f) using the pop-up menu, select The Fallen application using the Other... item
g) click on the Always open with ckeckbox at the bottom of the Select another location dialog
h) click on Add button
